Facing Tourette’s Wrapped
2025 was a big year for us at Facing Tourette’s and 2026 is going to be an even bigger one! Here’s a quick Facing Tourette’s “Wrapped” with a glance at what’s to come ahead:
First of all, our biggest success is that we launched this year, creating a website and social media pages! This took a lot of effort behind the scenes to get running, but it has definitely been worth it.
Another huge success this year is that we have started to gain a following on Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram and our mailing list. We have people supporting our initiatives and helping us spread the word about TS and other chronic tic disorders. We are so grateful for every single person who interacts with us.
Jennifer also got to meet with key executives at the Tourette Association of America, a huge breakthrough for a small outfit like ours. As a result of getting involved with national and state-level TAA employees and volunteers, she is now the leader of the Colorado TS support group for adults. This is a really great group of folks that meets monthly (first Wednesdays on Zoom at 6 pm MT) and getting to support each other has been so wonderful for Jennifer.
And this is all just the beginning of our journey together at Facing Tourette’s! Here’s a quick look ahead at what we have planned for 2026.
First of all, you will get even more information about Tourette’s and what it’s like to live with Tourette’s if you follow us on social media or subscribe to our mailing list. We will be highlighting more research and experiences to spread the word about a variety of experiences with Tourette’s. This will include more profiles of leaders in the Tourette’s space and famous people who have succeeded in the face of a movement disorder diagnosis.
We will be expanding FT’s social media presence on existing platforms as well as some additional ones. We will also be creating some in-person events and offerings geared towards adults with TS and those who want to support us. This will include more opportunities to work together to further our awareness missions. Be sure to follow on social media and subscribe to the website to never miss an announcement.
Finally, FT is seeking non-profit status in 2026. This will allow us to continue and expand our work and give our subscribers and followers more ways to get involved and support our mission.
We’ve got some other exciting news in the works… but we won’t give everything away just yet!
We want to end this final post of the year with an unbelievable amount of gratitude for every person who has helped us start our journey so far. If you are reading this, you are a crucial part of our journey and we could not be happier to have you.
Happy New Year! And thank you for Facing Tourette’s with us!
